Mitch M. Gilfillan Named to Public Interest Law Initiative’s Board of Directors

Quinn Johnston partner, Mitch Gilfillan, was named to the Public Interest Law Initiative’s (PILI) Board of Directors on September 1, 2023, and will serve a three-year term. Through its programs, PILI advances equal access to justice by connecting members of the legal community with those in need of legal assistance. Based out of Chicago, the board consists of attorneys and judges across the state of Illinois. Gilfillan will be the only representative from Peoria on the board, replacing the board seat previously held by Tenth Judicial Circuit Judge Lisa Y. Wilson.

Gilfillan has performed hundreds of hours of pro bono service and is an active civic and charitable contributor to the Greater Peoria community serving on multiple community boards. He also sits on the Tenth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee, volunteers through Prairie State Legal Services and serves United Way as the legal cabinet fundraising chair for Central Illinois. His exemplary pro bono service earned him state-wide recognition from the Illinois State Bar Association in 2020 as the John C. McAndrews Pro Bono Service Award winner.
