Attorney James “JD” VanRheeden obtained a defense verdict for a semi-truck driver and his employer
Quinn Johnston attorney James “JD” VanRheeden recently obtained a defense verdict for a semi-truck driver and his employer.
Defendant Semi-truck driver was accused of following the Plaintiffs’ vehicle too closely on a highway and of eventually colliding with the rear end of Plaintiff’s passenger car, allegedly injuring the three occupants. At trial, Defendant argued that the Semi-truck driver was never following the Plaintiff’s vehicle, and that rather, the Semi-truck was in the left lane of traffic when Plaintiff’s vehicle cut the truck off and caused the accident.
Plaintiffs asked the jury for $190,000 at the conclusion of the 2 day trial. After deliberating for two hours, the jury ruled for the Defendants, awarded the Plaintiffs nothing, and awarded the Defendants $3,000 to come from the driver of the Plaintiffs’ vehicle.
