Mitch Gilfillan of Quinn Johnston Recognized for Commitment to Pro Bono Legal Services

Mitch Gilfillan, a partner at Quinn Johnston in Peoria, was recently honored with two pro bono service awards.

The Illinois State Bar Association Committee on Delivery of Legal Services awarded Gilfillan with the ISBA John C. McAndrews Pro Bono Service Award for 2019-2020. The award honors the extraordinary commitment of those providing free legal services to the income eligible in Illinois or expanding the availability of legal services to the income eligible in Illinois.

The Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) staff named Gilfillan to its inaugural Pro Bono Volunteer Honor Roll. The honor represents gratitude for volunteers who support individuals, families, and communities in need through the PILI statewide Pro Bono Program. Through the presentation of the Honor Roll recipients, Mitch is commended for his commitment to the Conflict of Interest Pro Bono Referral Project and recognized for volunteering more hours and taking more cases than any other volunteer in the program.

Quinn Johnston is regularly recognized as a firm which champions the provision of pro bono services and is proud of Mitch’s time spent using his knowledge and experience to help others who are less fortunate.

“Mitch is not only an accomplished, energetic attorney representing our regular clients, but he is also deeply committed to the community, including those who are underserved,” said John Kamin, Quinn Johnston’s managing partner.
